McPhillamy Park
SAVE OUR PARK
& THE TOP OF MOUNT PANORAMA / WAHLUU
McPhillamy Park is a special place for many.
It is the highest point in Bathurst, with sweeping views over the landscape.

THIS DEVELOPMENT WILL IMPACT YOU
The peace of the park will be destroyed.
Our enjoyment of the views will be disturbed.
Up to 35 go-karts at once and loudspeakers will impact on residents and park users.
DID YOU KNOW
Bathurst Regional Council will put a go-kart circuit on top of our most beautiful lookout. - UNLESS WE STOP THEM!
The go-kart circuit atop Mount Panorama / Wahluu would be for CLUB MEMBERS ONLY
Phillamy Park has been a public park since 1938 . It was gifted to the community by the McPhillamy family
If the go-kart circuit were to go ahead it would remove a large slab of McPhillamy Park from community access.
Trees will be removed from the endangered grassy box woodlands, and endangered fauna will be impacted by noise, including the occasional koala.
The impact of noise on Park users has not been assessed
The go-kart circuit is approved to operate 9-5, seven days a week
The go-kart circuit as proposed will NOT be able to host international events.
The go-kart circuit proposals were NEVER put on public exhibition.
The cost of the proposed circuit has escalated from a small project in 2015 at an initial cost of $350,000 of $4.5 million in 2020.
